…today marks the first time I have popped out my right kneecap, versus an easy dozen (I’ve lost count, to be honest) for good ol’ Lefty.
This one was due to a steep back garden, heavy rainfall and me trying to be smart by avoiding the slick paving stones, and instead slipping in the muddy grass.
Like the first time I did Lefty (when I was about 11, at Solar Skate), Righty has more-or-less completely frozen up and cannot take any weight. I’m currently at my nephew’s 18th birthday, stuck up on the camp bed in his room under a duvet with a Garfield sheet while there’s a fire pit going on outside. On the plus-side, I’m listening to Tina Fey’s Bossypants audiobook again, and then I’m gonna watch John Carter.
I’ve already got tomorrow off, to travel back from London, but we’ll see about Tuesday. I’ve already used up most of my sick days this year thanks to my frequent depression-induced insomnia and migraine combos, so who knows whether I’ll hobble into work.
Ho hum.
